  1. Mutton: 1kg
  2. Butter/ghee: 2 tbsp
  3. Salt: as required
  4. Onion: 3-4 peeled
  5. Water: 4 cups
  6. Carrot: ¼ cup
  7. Potatoes: ½ cup cut into 2 pieces each
  8. Turmeric powder: ½ tsp
  9. Red chili powder: 1tsp
  10. Whole red chilies: 4-5
  11. Nutmeg and mace powder: 2 pinches
  12. Whole spices: 1tsp
  13. Ginger paste: ½ tsp
  14. Garlic cloves: 5-6

Steps:

  1. First of all, we need to chop the onion and carrot well. Then wash and rinse them separately.
  2. Wash and drain mutton well and keep aside.
  3. Fry onion in some ghee/butter until transparent in color, Add mutton and fry for 5 minutes.
  4. Add mutton chunks, all spices, garlic cloves, salt, whole red chilies, ginger paste, and chopped carrot.
  5. Cook on medium-low heat until the meat is tenderized well. Add potatoes and cook more 10 minutes on medium-low heat in order to tenderize potatoes.

Fry for 5 minutes on medium-high heat. Delicious mutton stew is ready to serve now.
